Selfie Sticks have had a rough few months. First the Smithsonian banned them from its museums, then Coachella deemed them "too narcissistic" to be allowed inside the Indio, California festival, and just last week Disney World cracked down on the devices. But New York City has a long tradition of welcoming the downtrodden and misunderstood, so it's fitting that Selfie On A Stick—the self-described "nation's leading premier selfie stick provider"—chose Times Square for its first-ever standalone store.

The 727 8th Avenue space features a variety of selfie stick models (including Bluetooth and remote control options), as well as a photo booth, where, if you feel so inclined, you can take a picture of yourself wielding your new selfie stick and...taking a picture of yourself. What a world.
