You Can Work Out for Free at New York Sports Club Because It's So Damn Hot

Driely S.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Just because it's a million percent humidity outside and subway platforms are unbearable and it feels totally reasonable to dress for a bodega run like you'd dress for the beach (see above) doesn't mean you should be skimping out on your workout routine. That's why New York Sports Club is opening its doors to anyone—who's over 18 with proper ID, that is—to come work out for free when the temperature hits 90 degrees or higher through August 31st.

Check here to find your nearest location, and just mention the "heat wave promotion" at the front desk. And remember that all the money you're saving on fitness this coming month can go toward your crazy-high utility bill.
