Here's the Next Shopping Complex Coming to the Financial District

Those who work on Wall Street have money to spend, so they might as well have a place to shop, too. New York YIMBY unveiled the first look at the retail revamp to come at One Wall Street, made up of a glass base that features "several cut-aways before melding back into the existing façade" and instantly reminds us of the Apple Store cube in Midtown — all the better to see those stores, though.

From what we can glean from the above rendering, the address looks like it wants to be a fast-fashion shopping hub, with those images on the second floor looking like something we'd find hanging at an H&M or a Forever 21. And just one floor above, a mock gym promises cardio and "Sportcycle," which signals that they're looking to get a piece of the neighborhood's fitness action. After all, the Financial District now has a gym roster boasting the likes of Flow Cycle, ChaiseFitness, SoulCycle, BFX Studio, Pure Barre and Karen Lord Pilates, all of which have entered within the last two years.

As for the retail scene? There's definitely major competition, with high-end and contemporary retailers dominating Brookfield Placestandalones like William Okpo taking up residence nearby the designer-showcasing Seaport Studios, and shopping near the World Trade Center on the way. Plus, rumor has it that an H&M is also on the way, joining Anthropologie, Zara, Gap, and Urban Outfitters in the downtown scene.
