In need of a few more breezy shirtdresses and crochet tops to hold you over 'til fall? The Tess Giberson sample sale, which opened in the designer's Soho store at 11am this morning, has all the stuff you can bear to wear when it's above 80 degrees. We stopped by earlier to get a sneak preview, and found crazy discounts (think up to 75% off) on production (i.e. not samples) items, making most in the $100-to-$200 range.
Due to the sale's location, it's a bit like shopping her store on a regular day—but everything's a lot cheaper. There are only four racks of clothes that are part of the sale, but many items come in multiple sizes—though take note, they mostly veer small.
Among the racks, there's plenty of Giberson's signature jacquard—crop tops are $110, while minidresses are $238—as well as crochet, tops made of which are $120. Pleated tea-length skirts are $170, denim jackets are $119, and heavier outerwear (there are around 10 or so) $395.
Also not particularly summery: Trousers in suede and leather ($300 to $385), which really are lovely. Shirtdresses have been marked down from $595 to $170 and come in white and lilac, and there's also silky printed minidresses for $230.
You've got until Sunday to shop the sale, though if you're in desperate need of a breezy summer top (or just a refreshing blast of AC), you may want to stop by earlier.
