The Paragon Sports Warehouse Sale Is Still So Big That It's Been Extended

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Paragon Sport's colossal warehouse sale has been in full swing for more than a week now, but it shows no signs of slowing down. Exhibit A: When we popped by the Union Square shop earlier today, we found an abundance of sports apparel (with plentiful sizing) and fully stocked sections of athletic gear. Exhibit B: The sale's just been extended through next Wednesday, September 23rd.

Sneaker shoppers, beware: While there's still a plenty of bright Asics sneakers, Nike and Adidas shoes are going fast. But if you move quickly, you can still pick up a pair of Nike Frees for $54.95 (originally $109.95). In addition, amid all the sneakers — still well-organized by size! — are some non-sneaker footwear options, from cold-weather boots to Vibran Fivefingers for $45.95 (from $94.95).

Sales associates had promised us that the sale would be continually restocked, and it looks like kept that promise. Apparel of all sorts is available in a wide range of sizes — check out the gallery above for examples — with the only exceptions being women's swimsuits and men's athletic tops. If you have the patience to search through the remaining swimwear for matching tops and bottoms, they're a huge steal at $9.96 per piece.

Paragon's athletic gear selection is still robust, too. In addition to the backpacks and rollerblades greeting you at the entrance, there are also further discounts on surfing gear, bike helmets, and as much New York sports team merchandise as you'd ever need. Plus, if you've had an inkling to get into squash or tennis, now's your chance: Rackets for both sports are now an additional 20% off their original discounts. Pair up your new rackets with the cute and cheap tennis skirts that we found here and you're all set.

When we stopped by on opening day, we were a bit put off by the huge crowds that it made it difficult to browse — but now that the sale is starting to wind down, it's possible to snag a spot to try on discounted sneakers without getting in anyone's way. Check out Paragon's Twitter for daily discount updates; Starting today, for example, ski and snowboarding gear, electronics, and Oakley sunglasses are an additional 20% off.
