If you're going in, why not go all in? Those must have been the thoughts at the Lowe's headquarters back in October, when the hardware retailer announced the opening of not one but two stores in Manhattan. The shops were only a faraway reality back then, but fast forward ten months, and one of the two locations is gearing up for its opening.

West Side Rag reports that the Upper West Side Lowe's at Broadway and 68th Street now has merchandise, including gardening products for all the New Yorkers lucky enough to have a sliver of outdoor space. The shop, which was previously a Food Emporium, should be ready for opening in "early September," according to a tipster [Update: West Side rag reports that the store will be open on Monday, August 10th. As for the Chelsea location at 635 Sixth Avenue at 19th Street (seen above), we're still waiting for word on its opening. For now, we're happy enough to know that home improvement will become way easier come early September.
