Turns out, M.A.C. Cosmetics' 11th Manhattan store won't actually be a store—once it opens at 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue in two weeks, it'll house the brand's first-ever makeup studio.

"This is the first time we're putting services out in front," Creative Director James Gager told the New York Times. Why visit the new salons versus getting a free application at a regular M.A.C. store? The stylists here won't be pushing you to leave with a bag full of cosmetics.

It'll be similar to NYC newbies like Blushington and Joli Beauty Bar, both of which have capitalized on the success of quick-fix blow dry salons while attempting to do the same for makeup.

Services include the general beauty bar fare (full face with contour: $60 for 60 minutes) as well as applications a la carte—think winged liner ($15 for 15 minutes) or smoky eyes. There's also the option for the "theatrical" application ($90 for 90 minutes), like fantasy, Halloween, or drag looks, and a 90-minute ($90) makeup lesson—bookings are already available here.
