The William Okpo Sample Sale Is an Aspiring Street Style Star's Dream

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

William Okpo's first-ever in-store sample sale is here to make your dreams of owning a Solange Knowles wardrobe a reality. Today, sisters Lizzy and Darlene Okpo kicked off their three-day sale, offering up to 80% off of the label's past womenswear collections at 6 Fulton Street. We visited the South Street Seaport shop — located right next to Brother Vellies and its respective sample sale — just after 11am today to find Lizzy still tagging merchandise with crazy-good discounted prices.

The sample sale section, comprised of three racks, is immediately off to your right upon entering the store. We immediately spied pieces from the most recent spring/summer and resort collections, as well as the fall 2012 and 2013 collections, including crop tops ($40), skirts ($35), and pants ($60). There is no shortage of statement-making prints, patterns, or textures in both warm and cold weather-appropriate clothing. Click into the gallery above to view the eye-catching pieces.

There isn't more than four of any one particular item of clothing, and sizes are true samples (ranging from 2 to 6), with the smaller sizes being the most prevalent. We were told that everything is out on the sales floor for the most part, and the clothing will remain priced as marked (read: no markdowns).

Add this sale to the growing list of reasons to venture to the South Street Seaport this weekend; check out the Dealfeed below for more information.
