Update: As of Thursday morning, apparel is an extra 20% off the sale price, while shoes are an additional 50% off. Original discounts from the sale's preview are reflected below.

We checked out the Rebecca Taylor sample sale preview last night, and shoppers can expect up to 75% off the label's ready-to-wear, with even better deals on samples, shoes and accessories.

Of course, the samples, which are tucked in the alcove in the back of the room, should be the first stop. Here you'll find knit tops for $25, pants, shorts, and skirts for $30, blouses and sweaters for $40, $50 dresses, $75 black tie dresses and jackets and lastly, leather pieces for $125. A staffer told us that they'll definitely be restocking samples today, so there will be plenty of goods when the sale opens to the public. Many of the samples look wrinkled, but upon inspection much of the damage is very minimal

Over to the ready-to-wear section which is mainly overstock from last year's spring collection. Everything is organized by size, from 0 to 12 and extra small to large. The prices—which start at $59 for tees (didn't see too many) and top off at $299 for leather pieces—are much higher than samples but still cheaper than store sales. Blouses, shorts, and skirts are priced at $89, sweaters and sweatshirts are $99, and pants are also $99. All dresses and jumpsuits are $129, black tie gowns are $179, and jackets and outerwear are $169 and $199 respectively. We found a lot of silk tops, dresses for day and night, non-boring trousers, and Rebecca Taylor's signature jackets and blazers. Size 4 through 8 have the most variety of styles.

There aren't many accessories this time around, and all are priced at $29. We spotted a few leather belts (including a purple skinny style by Maison Boinet which retails for $115) and a couple of books. There was no jewelry, although it's up on the price list. A sale organizer could not confirm if they will be receiving jewelry or not.

Beside the accessories, there are bins of wool knits and cardigans as well as some cashmere pieces. All sweaters are $99.

Finally, all shoes are $99 but there's only a handful of styles and sizing is very limited (size 8 is the most common, but there are some 7's and 10's as well). We spotted one pair of black booties, Yvette ballet flats (originally $275), and three different colors of the Concetta sandals (originally $375) from the spring 2014 runway collection.

The sale starts today and runs through Sunday and there will be some restocking. See below for more details.—Hsini
