It's been nearly a year since we checked in on Givenchy's progress on Madison Avenue, which first announced itself in late 2013 before even debuting its address. But today, designer Riccardo Tisci delivered a double-dose of New York news to WWD: The paper reports that the long-awaited 5,000-square foot store will open in late August, just days before the label presents its latest collection at New York Fashion Week for the first time.

The Kardashian-West-favored brand—who just debuted its latest menswear collection with beefcakes and Naomi Campbell—hasn't had a retail presence in New York since 2006, when it exited 710 Madison Avenue. It also marks the beginning of a big stateside retail push, with increased presence in department stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue, and more boutiques planned for California.

And as for the runway show, scheduled for NYFW's second day on September 11th? "It's a very delicate day for America, and so the show is going to be a celebration of family and love," Tisci told WWD, adding that artist Marina Abramović is "going to help me to art direct the show. It's going to be very interesting." Let's keep our fingers crossed for a live stream.
