NYC's Fashion Faves Relive The Best Parties of the Year

As the end of 2015 approaches and 2016 sits on the horizon, we've tapped a handful of reputable fashion friends to weigh in on this year's greatest hits (and misses) — it's the Year in Racked. This time, we asked about the best party they attended this year.

Driely S.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Kai Avent-deLeon, owner, Sincerely, Tommy: "I would have to say mine! Sincerely, Tommy and my friends [Racked fashion editor-at-large] Rajni Jaques, Yohana Lebasi, and Elle K. Clay do a monthly party at Lovers Rock. There's always really good music and a beautiful crowd (of people who actually dance)."

Alicia Yoon, owner, Peach and Lily: "We had a launch party in Korea for our brick-and-mortar store opening in Macy's in New York, where we celebrated with a small group of around 20 over dinner and drinks. The guest list included close friends and influencers in Korea who I thought might be interested in Korean beauty expanding in the US, including one of my favorite actors, Lee Jung Jae, who I like to describe as the George Clooney of Korea. The party was super fun, very meaningful and will be one to go down in the memory books."

Shira Suveyke, co-president and chief merchant, The Outnet: "The Net-A-Porter Group celebrated its 15th birthday this past summer with a sprawling, carnival-themed fete at Somerset House in London. Playing bumper cars with The Outnet's buying team is a great memory!"

Karen Lord, Pilates instructor and owner, Karen Lord Pilates Movement "I had the pleasure of witnessing two people I love get married in Montauk on the most beautiful day in September. The whole thing lasted three days and was spectacular. Epic party, epic love. I'm a romantic, and It was such a happy time."

Jessica Schiffer, senior online editor, V Magazine: "I had a ton of my friends over to ring in the summer on my rooftop, and it was one of those rare situations where nearly everyone I invited showed up. Seeing all the people I love with the city skyline as a backdrop (and some Drake on repeat) — what's more perfect than that?"

Michelle Smith, fashion designer, Milly: "The [Harper's] Bazaar Icons party."

Whitney Pozgay, fashion designer, Whit: "I had such a blast at the CFDA Awards this year. It was exciting to celebrate the industry with New York's design community."

Amy Yee, owner, Maeven Vintage: "My friend Chloe threw a couple of movie screenings on her deck this summer that I hope she replicates again and again. All I need is a screen, a cocktail, and really good friends."

Phillip Salem, handbag designer, Owen: "My engagement party. It was the best time! We had over 175 people at this huge outdoor space. To give you a visual, there was a lot of Janet Jackson playing and a big dance floor."
