Jessica Simpson wasn't exactly a pop star for the ages, but there's no denying her prowess as a businesswoman: The most recent reports for her eponymous line of womenswear, girls' clothing, shoes, handbags, maternity, and home goods showed sales of a billion dollars (that's "billion" with a "B"). So what's next for the mom of two with impossible legs? Her own retail presence, according to Us Weekly.

The magazine reports that she's planning to open boutiques here in New York, as well as Chicago and LA, "within the next year," quoting an unnamed source. No further details were given about when or where we could expect it to find the collection outside of places like Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillard's, and Bed Bath and Beyond.

The brand advancement does make sense, though, since a 50% stake was sold to a new parent company with the intention of at least doubling sales. Any guesses as to where the city's first Jessica Simpson store will be? Let us know in the comments section.
