Christofle Replaces Curious Candy on Bleecker Street

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The retail space at 396 Bleecker Street is going from sweets to silver spoons. Christofle, the Parisian brand of flatware, tableware, decorative home accessories, and jewelry, is set to open its second New York City boutique in the West Village (there's already one on Madison Avenue).

It's taking the place of Curious Candy, the Cynthia Rowley-backed candy shop that a tipster noted had closed early in the summer, and joining a fashion-heavy block that includes Club Monaco, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Lulu Guinness, and Bond No. 9. We're not sure of an exact opening date, but have reached out to the brand and will update when we hear more information.
