Trader Joe's Is Opening Its Next Brooklyn Outpost at City Point

New, 11 comments

Downtown Brooklyn's massive City Point development has snagged another major retailer: Trader Joe's. The grocer has inked a lease for a 13,700-square-foot space on the concourse level of the multi-tower development, where it'll be in the company of Century 21, CityTarget, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and the 26,000-square-foot food hall DeKalb Market. The grocer won't open its doors until 2016, so it's a good thing there's another Trader Joe's just a few blocks away on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street.

In addition to a whole bunch of next-level retail, City Point is bringing three towers with at least 700 market rate and affordable apartments to Downtown Brooklyn at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue Extension and Fulton Street. One of the three towers has already topped out, and the application period for its 200 affordable apartments will end on September 24.
