Holiday cheer has officially infiltrated every corner of New York City, and from Midtown to Downtown, the city's hotels have covered themselves in all manner of decorative baubles, from Christmas trees and wreaths to giant nutcrackers and stag's horns. Unsurprisingly, many of the most festively-dressed hotels are located in Midtown, so you could plan a convenient tour of some of the city's other holiday landmarks—ice-skating rinks, Christmas trees—if you really want to make a cheerful day of it.

The New York Palace has once again pulled out all the stops with its Christmas decorations, adding a massive gingerbread house (designed to look like the hotel, of course) to its usual over-the-top adornments, which include Christmas trees, lights, and more.
Beneath the Standard's High Line hotel, you'll find a veritable winter wonderland, complete with a ski chalet-style building serving hot drinks, an ice-skating rink, and chairs covered with cozy fur throws. Inside, a Christmas tree adds more festive cheer.
Over in the East Village, meanwhile, the Standard hosts a Christmas tree market, where you can buy firs and wreaths (proceeds benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club) and sip on festive drinks, like hot cocoa.
Considering the Plaza is one of the city's most opulent hotels, it's no surprise that it pulls out all the stops during the holidays, with a gorgeous Christmas tree in addition to other festive decorations.
