A $1.2M Brooklyn Brownstone? Yes, But Blocks From the Beach

New, 9 comments

Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

Utter the words Manhattan Beach, and its neighbor Brighton Beach, and some will recall the Victorian-style seaside resorts of yore, while others conjure up images of Eastern European residents and their garish properties (like this ridiculous villa with an infinity pool).

But this little house with a flowering yard, first spotted by 6sqft, hides some pretty classy interiors. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom may not look like much from the outside, but inside you'll find beamed ceilings, multiple skylights, a wood-burning fireplace, and an eat-in kitchen that looks straight out of many homes in Brownstone Brooklyn. But the best part is the price tag, at least in relation to those houses to the northwest: a mere $1.2 million. Plus, it's just blocks from the public beach, and residence also comes with free access to a private stretch of sand run by Kingsborough Community College. What could be better for summer?
