What $3,500/Month Can Rent You in New York City

New, 12 comments

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $3,500/month.

↑ In the Financial District, this one-bedroom is located in a landmarked building, but has modern amenities, including European cabinetry and a refinished bathroom. The building comes with a roof deck, fitness room, and other luxury-rental amentities.

↑ The broker for this Brooklyn Heights studio was surprisingly honest about the apartment, calling it a "studio with home office" rather than trying to sell it as a one-bed. It's located in One Brooklyn Bridge Park, so has stunning views along with its fancy kitchen, custom closets, and oak floors.

↑ "Pre-war charm meets modern design," or so sayeth the listing for this Gramercy one-bedroom. It has a galley kitchen, large living room, and two closets.

↑ This Williamsburg one-bedroom comes with a cute deck that's large enough to fit a table, chairs, and a grill. The spacious common area has both a living room (with a fireplace!) and a dining area, and there are built-in bookshelves throughout.

↑ This two-bedroom in the East Village has been completely renovated, but some of the changes—like putting a washer-dryer in the kitchen—are a little odd. The bathroom is tiny, but it does have two spacious bedrooms and pretty French doors.
