Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In a dream world, we'd all post up beachside from sunrise on Memorial Day to sunset on Labor Day, gladly trading in subway commutes for sandy walks. But for some fashion and beauty brands, they're making that dream a reality this summer. A handful of apparel and accessories brands and some well-known boutiques have planted themselves on the tip of Long Island for the summer, embedding themselves among the brands and boutiques with permanent locations in the Hamptons and Hamptons-adjacent towns.

Below, we've picked out eight temporary shopping destinations worth hopping on a Jitney for this summer, from an LA designer's interpretation of East Coast beach culture to a resort's rotating rooftop shopping set-up and a popular jewelry brand's roving beachside Airstream (think they'll require shirts and shoes to browse?). See the pop-ups that spread from Montauk to Southampton mapped out below, starting all the way East and heading inland.
