Okay, Sunday, March 20th is the first day of spring. But more importantly, March 20th is Macaron Day, thanks to chef Francois Payard. Bakeries all over the city are joining forces to treat New Yorkers to the French pastry between 10am and 5pm with a free macaron while supplies last. That's incentive enough to hit up at least a few different stores in that seven-hour window, wouldn't you say?
We've mapped out every participating location below, and made a note if a shop has more than one outpost. All you have to do is tell them that you are there for Macaron Day NYC — and should you decide that one isn't enough, a portion of the day's macaron sales will be donated to City Harvest, an organization that brings excess food to hungry New Yorkers.
