It's a running joke that people who are vegan love to talk about it (think Beyoncé circa 2015), but what we often hear less of is where they're shopping for their fashion and beauty needs. You can always opt for whatever doesn't have animal furs or products on the hangtag or in the ingredients, but there are still many synthetic materials that use animal by-products that aren't always specified on the label.
So scroll down to see 12 places in New York City where you can find fashion and beauty brands that not only avoid animals in their production and testing, but also keep an eye on materials' technology and sourcing, too, all the while without sacrificing any of the style and functionality that shoppers are looking for. When your friends inevitably ask "Where'd you get that?" about your new purchase, you can brag about your vegan status and your #OOTD at the same time.
