We rank shopping for a swimsuit right up there with finding the perfect jeans or white T-shirt — it's an a daunting task with seemingly endless options in sight. So we've narrowed down the list of places to shop for swimwear in New York City, highlighting a range stores that cater to different body types and varying budgets.

You'll find suits at these shops suitable for an afternoon at Sheep Meadow or a tropical vacation, so all you're left to decide is the important things, like whether to worth splurge on a designer name or what color one-piece will look best with your spray tan.

With Pesca, you're actually getting double the shopping: Shahlla Azizian founded Pesca Boutique in 1979 by to bring swimwear labels from South America, Israel, and America to the Upper East Side, while daughter Teresa opened Pesca Trend around the corner on Second Avenue in 2007 to stock — you guessed it — trendy (and often skin-baring) swim styles, as well as more clothing options like light dresses and lingerie.
