Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Dolce Vita is back! The footwear brand that's known for on-trend styles at affordable price points closed its Elizabeth Street shop back in 2014 (and was later replaced by the country's first Kit + Ace) but parent company Steve Madden is reviving its presence in Soho this year.

The Real Deal reports that the brand is taking the entire building at 53 Mercer Street, using the 3,000 square feet on the ground floor for retail and the upper levels as its new corporate headquarters. The store is slated to open within six months, so hopefully we'll see its debut in time for holiday party shopping.

It's not the only shoe brand making moves in the neighborhood right now: Melissa Shoes, the makers of PVC footwear that makes a Karl Lagerfeld design actually affordable, is moving its store from Greene Street to Broadway.
