After months of waiting, Mansur Gavriel's very first (and at one point, highly-contested) shoe collection is available for purchase, joining its existing range of modern and minimalist handbags, including that ubiquitous bucket bag.
Earlier this month, a select few styles and colors were available on Net-a-Porter: suede mules and crisscross suede mules in burgundy and cobalt for $395, and suede platform sandals and mules ranging from $475 to $625 in colors like black, rose, and brick. Understandably, the shoes sold out super quick.
Luckily, founders Rachel Mansur and Florian Gavriel will sell their mix-and-match shoes — there are 320 possible combinations — at the following two retailers in New York City:
Opening Ceremony
Will launch the collection in-store Friday, March 4th
35 Howard Street, (212) 219-2688; Opening Ceremony
Steven Alan Tribeca
Shipments are expected mid-to-the end of March; no exact selling date yet
103 Franklin Street, (212) 343-0692; Steven Alan
Bergdorf Goodman
Shipments are expected around March 4th; no exact selling date yet
754 Fifth Avenue, (212) 753-7300; Bergdorf Goodman
Dover Street Market
Shipments are expected around March 4th; no exact selling date yet
160 Lexington Ave, (646) 837-7750; Dover Street Market New York
It's important to note that not every retailer that stocks Mansur Gavriel handbags here will carry the shoes. We've already confirmed that Barneys, Curve, Creatures of Comfort, and Dover Street Market do not have plans to stock footwear. [Update: We've included DSM as a stockist above.
So right now, it looks like Opening Ceremony (yet again) is your best bet for bypass those waiting lists the brand's now known for. We'll keep you updated if anything changes.
