Sad news for the beautifully-lit Project No. 8. The high-end men's clothing store — known for its killer selection from cool Northern European brands, niche fragrances, magazines, and streamlined leather goods — is now closed, The Lo-Down is reporting.

Art bookstore and gallery Karma has relocated from its post on Great Jones Street to open in its place. "It could be temporary or it could be permanent," Karma owner Brendan Dugan told the local blog of the new space. "I really like the idea of it, and the location is really great. There's lots of new foot traffic here."

But all is not lost for Project No. 8: the boutique is signed up for a spot within Columbus Circle's cavernous subway-station-turned-shopping-center, TurnStyle, that's expected to open during the spring. It'll join the likes of men's label Spectre & Co., Lush Cosmetics, and Studio Manhattan Art + Design, plus plenty of food vendors.
