Six months after announcing its impending move off of St. Mark's Place, Trash and Vaudeville is really and truly leaving. EV Grieve noted that the legendary store posted its closing date on Instagram:

"We'll be on Saint Marks till Feb 29th," the caption reads in part. "We would love to see you here before we move and we look forward to seeing you on 7th street in early March!" The windows at its new home — 96 East 7th Street, formerly a hair salon and the Angelo Lambrou bridal salon — have been papered over since the summer. [Update: EV Grieve noted that the shop's latest Instagram post pushed up its last day here to Sunday, February 28th.]

Trash and Vaudeville is following fellow institutions Sounds and The Sock Man off the block, but it's the only one of the three with plans to open elsewhere. The building that houses Trash and Vaudeville hit the market for nearly $12 million back in November; as of this writing, that price has dropped to $10.5 million.
