The Creative Couple That Found Love at The Spotted Pig

It's Weddings Week on Racked, so we took a trip down to New York City's Marriage Bureau to interview happy couples. We're spotlighting one stylish duo every day this week.

Standing on the steps of the Manhattan Marriage Bureau last Friday, Natalie Saibel had already changed out of her turquoise heels into a more practical pair of rose gold flats. She and her husband of just a few minutes, Nathan Dilworth, were planning to celebrate their wedding with friends and family at a bar in Brooklyn, where they live.

"It seemed like the ceremony of having a huge wedding in a rented facility somewhere is just so much about other people's expectations," says Dilworth. "This felt like us."

An actor and visual artist, respectively, Saibel and Dilworth met seven years ago while working at The Spotted Pig and got engaged on their anniversary in April. (In case you were wondering: neither of them served Kanye during their time at the restaurant, though Dilworth says he has been there at the same time as the rapper.) Today, Saibel works at the Metropolitan Opera as a non-singing actor, while Dilworth, whose abstract art spans photography, painting, and sculpture, has a studio in Gowanus.

For the wedding ceremony, Saibel kept her look homegrown and picked up a simple white dress at the boutique Meg in Brooklyn. "It was the first thing I tried on," she says. Dilworth's J.Crew suit and shirt came, even more conveniently, from his own closet. And the striped cap? FairEnds.
