3.1 Phillip Lim, Opening Ceremony, and More from Otte's Warehouse Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Otte warehouse sale starts this morning at 11am, but we stopped by 281 Mott Street to preview the selection last night. While the true steals are few and far between, the tiny boutique is jam-packed with some pretty good deals.

First up after walking through the doors are tall shelves of jeans, stacked by size and all marked down to $99. In the center of the room are a few styles of blazers and sweaters folded on a table — we spotted a black L'Agence blazer for $375 (originally $775) and sweaters from T by Alexander Wang ($99) and Iro ($202.50).

Continuing up the center of the room towards the registers are tables with bins of pants, shorts, rompers, skirts, and tees, all for $50. You have to rummage through them, but we spotted some enticing labels. There are a few bags on these tables as well, all $300 or less.

Shoes are on wall-mounted shelves on both sides of the room. We spotted lots of cute ankle boots, as well as heels and sneakers — a pair of black and white Rag & Bone creepers for $150 looked really nice.

Dresses are hanging on racks on the left-hand wall, and the ones we picked up generally ranged in price from $99 to $350. Styles of note include a pink floral sheath by the Otte in-house label, an abstract tree print dress from See by Chloé, and a blue polka dotted dress by Cacharel. Skirts, pants, and sweaters are hanging up along the wall as you walk back towards the registers. We saw an Opening Ceremony leather mini skirt for $195 (originally $595) and silky floral wide leg pants by Sea for $177.50 (was $355). There is a rack of mostly black dresses right in front of the registers, including a really nice style by O'2nd for $150.

The right-hand wall has shelves with more bags, sweaters, and tee-shirts — from here, we liked a small circular black crossbody bag by 3.1 Phillip Lim for $250. We saw tee-shirts from T by Alexander Wang and Splendid, as well as more sweater stock for the styles on the table in the front. There are also a few pairs of J Brand leather pants for $300 (from $998).

Tops are hanging up on the wall by the door, including a Rachel Comey pink printed crop top for $125 and an Acne Studios purple silk sleeveless top for $150. Note that only a few pieces of jewelry are included in the sale — we were told that they are marked down to around $150, from original prices of about $450.

Though this sale runs through the end of the month, we suggest heading over to the Nolita shop as soon as possible. Again, there aren't many steals, but if you're looking for an investment piece without having to commit a good chunk of the investment price, this is place to find it. It's running during regular store hours: 11am—7pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm—6pm on Sunday.
