Outerwear Masters The Arrivals Are Popping Up With a New Collaboration

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It might be weird to think that The Arrivals, the NYC-based online brand that makes the cool outerwear your favorite celebrity probably owns, has partnered with art and architecture firm Snarkitecture for its first-ever collaboration, but there's two reasons that partnering with the company that designed Kith's visually rich stores in Brooklyn and Manhattan. First, an Arrivals co-founder is a former architect; and second, there are a lot of structural elements at play in this limited-edition waterproof poncho.

While $345 is pretty steep for something that you'll wear in the crappiest of weather conditions, consider the poncho's perks. It includes hidden pockets, waterproof safety compartments — this is where you keep your iPhone — and special slots for your earbuds to come through. Check out all that storage space below on the black version (it's also available in white):

You can purchase one of these bad boys online right now, or you can hold off and check it out in person at The Arrivals' Lower East Side upcoming pop-up, located on the same block as Maison Kitsuné and Freeman's Sporting Club. The poncho will obviously be the featured item here, but you can also check out pieces like the Vader R2.2 LMTD, the Vader R.2.2 and the Arne bomber if you're stopping by on that Saturday.

The Arrivals x Snarkitecture pop-up shop will be open Thursday, May 5th through Sunday, May 8th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
