Pearl River Mart's Final Days, Aesop and Pinkyotto Add Stores, and More News to Know

SOHO—Affordable home goods marketplace Pearl River Mart is really gone now. The business closed its doors last Tuesday after 13 years on Broadway due to a five-fold rent hike, and Bedford and Bowery was there to capture owner Ching Yeh Chen and her husband posing with the staff for one final portrait after the last customers left. Chen told the blog that she's still scouting a new location while maintaining the online business.

UPPER WEST SIDE—The playful women's boutique Pinkyotto is opening another location at 2060 Broadway, according to West Side Rag. The brand known for putting teddy bear heads on its window display mannequins has stores in the East Village, Nolita, Soho, and Williamsburg.

TRIBECA—Aesop is adding yet another store to its NYC lineup. Tribeca Citizen is reporting the Australian-based skincare brand will open at 138 West Broadway, joining the existing six shops in the borough and two more in Brooklyn.

UPPER EAST SIDE—The high-end Swiss fashion brand Bally is moving up the block from its current location at 628 Madison Avenue to 687 Madison Avenue, the New York Post is reporting. It comes with about the same square footage, but has the added bonus of fancier neighbors, including Brunello Cucinelli and Hermés. Georg Jensen, who's currently in this space, will shuffle over to 698 Madison Avenue.
