New York’s Fashion Forecast for Thursday, July 28th, 2016

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Good morning! Today is Thursday, July 28th, and we’ve already hit 80 degrees in Midtown Manhattan (according to weather.com) before most people have hit their second cup of coffee. Humidity’s pretty high right now — you’ll feel it on the underground subway platforms most — but it’ll dip as the temperature climbs to about 90 degrees (or mid-90s, if we’re going for real-feel) by the afternoon.

There isn’t a credible chance of rain or thunderstorms until much later in the evening, but if you’re planning on a long day (and night) out of your apartment, pack one just in case.

So what should you wear today? Something with a peekaboo factor, like this look we spotted at Art Basel last year. A visible eyeful of a bralette or maybe-a-little-too-small crop top isn’t so scandalous when it’s under a roomy (read: self-cooling) tent dress in soft summer colors. Take the hair off the back of your neck by gathering it into a ponytail and add a pair of slides to round out this outfit’s easygoing vibe.

By the way, did you know that tomorrow’s Friday?
