Wedding invitations can be stuffy, and the art of calligraphy in general tends to err on the formal side. But what if you’re having a low-key wedding? Below are five local printing studios in Manhattan and Brooklyn that specialize in beautiful, albeit a bit more chill, wedding stationery.

Swiss Cottage Designs

The two-woman team behind this custom design studio have backgrounds in illustration and graphic design, which is reflected in their use of hand-done sketches. They’ve done work for Warby Parker, which should give you a general idea of the vibe. 159 Carroll Street, Carroll Gardens

Park Slope Press

Park Slope Press focuses on letterpress and screen printing for its wedding sets, but they also offer a cool service called "Diamond Dust Portraits" — large canvas photos that are covered in diamond dust, a technique made popular by Andy Warhol. 54 2nd Avenue, Park Slope

Wasp Poster and Print

Based in Greenwich Village, this letterpress printing studio is run by two sisters who are third-generation printers. The shop uses soy-based ink and 100 percent recycled paper. Styles range from "70s love" to "watercolor," so there’s a lot to choose from. 15 Christopher Street, Greenwich Village
