Feast your eyes on this almost-too-good-to-be-true Illesteva sample sale happening right now. We made our way down to the brand's Soho showroom bright and early to get the scoop on what frames were available. The doors opened at 9:20am (they were scheduled to open at 10am) and the space was pretty small, so expect to be a bit cramped with the other really pumped shoppers. There are lots of samples and regular stock to choose from.
The first thing we spotted were the multiple colors, prints, and finishes for the cool-girl essential Leonard ($130) and Leonard II ($140) frames on the table closest to the elevator. The Hamilton frame ($110) also had tons to choose from in both frame and lens colors. Other silhouettes we noticed were the Boca, Porto Cervo, and the Le Steel (starting at $60), just to name a few.
Also, if you're in the market for wooden frames, you're in luck: There were both men's and women's styles available, and they were all only $40.
Against the far wall was a pretty good selection of optical frames ($75). We came across the funky Meyer frames in a clear yellow (pictured in the gallery above) and a bunch of other styles in lots colors and sizes. Next to the opticals, we spotted the Corsica ($60) silhouette in three different colors.
Don't forget to check out the $40 bench full of samples in the back of the store. The prices above the bench aren't the same as the price list throughout the rest of the sale space, so just be sure to check with a sales associate if you get confused. Many of the $40 samples had lenses missing, or were opticals. There was a larger selection of wooden frames here, too. Be sure to also check out the selection of leather and genuine python pouches, bags, and backpacks that start at $150.
The sunglasses selection will be replenished with both what's already out and new styles, so it may be worth making a second (or third) visit during this sale's duration. There was already a line forming as we left, so expect to be waiting outside (thankfully, it's not cold) for a bit. Both Cash and cards are accepted. Check the Dealfeed below for more on this sale.
