Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ahead of the Marimekko for Target launch on Sunday, April 17th, Target is doing a little something special for New Yorkers this weekend on the The High Line. Between 14th Street and Gansevoort Street, step into installations that are designed to encourage people to play together.

Visitors can interact with each installation differently, like laying down on memory foam poufs to snap a photo via a hanging mirror on the ceiling, creating music that will play throughout the High Line, or swinging on a swing while a slow motion video captures it all — so you can no doubt post to Instagram.

The full collection Marimekko for Target collection, when it debuts next weekend, ranges from $8 to $500, but the majority of the items are $50 or less. You'll be able to shop apparel, outdoor décor, furniture, and entertaining essentials like kites, boogie boards, paddle board, hammocks, and bocce ball sets in the playful patterns the Finnish brand is known for in stores across the country.

But visitors here will have first dibs: Every day, there will be a different subset of the collection available for purchase, so it might be worth going more than once to see what you can get.

Visit The High Line to see the installations and shop the collection — it's open today through Monday, April 11th from 10am to 8pm. And afterward, grab a cup of coffee and stroll through our favorite places in Chelsea.
