Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Chaz Dean, the Los Angeles hairstylist who created shampoo-less hair care brand Wen that's all over QVC, is looking to introduce New Yorkers to his product line. "If they've always been curious about Wen, it will give them a first-hand experience," Dean told WWD.

The "it" he's referring to is his own salon — Page Six previously discovered that Dean was looking to buy a "$10 million historic townhouse at 59 Greenwich Avenue" to act as a salon, retail shop, and pied-à-terre. Today WWD confirmed that the four-story property is all his, but since the property needs to be completely renovated, we likely won't see it until late 2017.

If you're not familiar with his late-night infomercials, then perhaps you recall when Dean came under fire late last year: More than 200 women in 40 states filed a class action lawsuit against both the hairstylist and informercial owner Guthy-Renker, alleging that the products made them go bald. The two have contested those claims, and it appears Dean isn't showing any signs of slowing down in the meantime.
