Welcome to Fashion Forecast, where you can find out what New York City’s weather will be like today — and most importantly, how to dress for it.

Good morning! Today is Monday, July 18th, 2016, and holy hell it’s going to be a hot one today. As of right now in Midtown Manhattan, weather.com says that the temperature feels like it’s in the low 80s — but that’s not really even because of high humidity levels. It’s just that hot today.

Luckily, the wind will have picked up by the time the mid-90s high temperature hits in the early afternoon, but there won’t be any rain relief until later this evening. Until then, stay cool, stay hydrated, and wear sunscreen.

So what should you wear today? As little as societally possible that’s light in both fabric and color, like this look that we spotted at Adidas Fanatic a couple years back. Pairing a skirt that reaches your waist with a crop top means you’re not showing a ton of skin at the midriff, and using a backpack leaves a free hand for fanning yourself on the subway platform — stop by a Canal Street storefront to pick up one of those old-fashioned types.

Or, since it’s 2016, do the modern thing, like these smart pups:
