New York’s Fashion Forecast for Monday, July 25th, 2016

Good morning! Today is Monday, July 25th, and New York City might be starting to escape from this weekend’s heat dome — emphasis on “might be.” That’s because as of this writing, we’ve already cracked 80 degrees in Midtown Manhattan (at least according to weather.com), and the temperature is expected to reach 94 degrees by early afternoon, but the real-feel should pass triple digits.

And for better or worse, there’s a strong chance of scattered thunderstorms starting at 3pm and running through the evening.

So what should you wear today? It’s Monday and it’s hot, so whatever’s easiest, right? The contrasting patterns seen here (and spotted at Adidas Fanatic earlier this month) take literally zero effort — just choose two pieces with similar coloring and go for it — and pair them with a denim something: shorts, skirt, culottes, whatever. The bucket bag is perfect for holding that umbrella, and a low pony fights off the inevitable frizz.

Happy Monday! (Can you even say that with a straight face?)
