EAST VILLAGE—February 28th was a landmark day for retail closures in and around the East Village, so EV Grieve contributor Nick McManus headed to Patricia Field, Trash and Vaudeville, and more to capture poignant Polaroids of stores' respective staffs on their final days.

CHELSEA—The restaurant Freds doesn't debut at the downtown Barneys flagship until Monday, but we already know what the waitstaff will be wearing. WWD has the first look at the ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo-designed uniforms that black-and-white button-downs, slim ties, and denim aprons with pinstripes.

UPPER EAST SIDE—Still no official word on when Barry's Bootcamp's largest studio to date will open, but there's more signs of progress. Following its rather large signage on the corner of Second Avenue and 64th Street comes a landing page on the boutique gym's website. Unfortunately, that "reserve" button remains unclickable.

COLLEGE POINT—Following a six-year-old's near-drowning incident, Spa Castle's pools are closed indefinitely until the Health Department completes a satisfactory inspection, Gothamist reports. Currently, the department believes that "excessive" suction from the pool vents were strong enough to pull and keep the victim underwater. Update: According to Crain's New York, this Spa Castle location is now closed indefinitely.
