A.L.C., the purveyor of cool-girl luxury essentials, is holding its first-ever NYC sample sale at Chelsea Market this week, so we headed downtown earlier this morning to get a sneak peek of what you'll find — when we got there an hour before the doors opened, there were already a few people waiting in line.
Sizes were organized from 0 to 12 over on the left-hand side of the sale space. Start with the skirts ($159) on the far wall, where there isn't a huge selection of styles available, but at least there's a pretty equal selection per size. This is also where you'll find pants ($179), black jersey knit dresses ($119), and all-black jumpsuits ($279).
At the end of the jumpsuits, you'll see a rack of samples, which arguably has some of the best stuff here. They weren't yet marked while we were browsing, but we were told that tees are $20, tops, sweaters, and bottoms are $49, and dresses are $69. None of these pieces have marked sizes, so be sure to check the fit before you buy.
Pajama sets and shorts (both $119) have their own racks in the center of the room. Tee shirts and long-sleeved shirts (both $39) came in a full range of sizes, and we mostly spotted muscle-style tee shirts black, white and gray options for long sleeves. In the back, you'll find sweater skirts ($149) and sweater tops ($99).
Other tops ($119) and dresses (starting at $209) are on the longest racks in the middle of the floor. There were a few pieces that could be transitioned into your spring wardrobe, but for the most part, everything was from the holiday and fall collections. Check out the gallery above for more styles.
A Bonobos sale for men is also taking place in the same space. You'll find swim shorts ($19), pants ($49), knit shirts ($19) and jackets ($79), and basically everything on this side of the sale was summer-ready.
