Shop the Steven Alan Sample Sale For Your Next ’Office Cardigan‘

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Update: As of Friday morning, there are "further reductions" on all Steven Alan merchandise, according to the sale host, but the additional discounts were not specified. This does not apply to third-party merchandise. Original sale prices are reflected below and in the gallery captions above.

Hopefully, you took our advice and opted to wait to shop Steven Alan at its sample sale rather than its end-of-season sale. We stopped into 150 Greene Street during this morning's crowded VIP hours (it opens to the public at 12 p.m.) and we have to say, as in previous years, you will not be disappointed.

While there is a ton of merchandise, the good stuff are pieces that you will want to save for cooler temps — think chunky knit sweaters, dusters, capes, boots, hats, and the like. Or, you can wear it now in your freezing cold office.

The in-house items were cheaper (all under $100) and way more prevalent than the third-party labels, so we'll start with those. We saw Steven Alan women's T-shirts and polos ($35), button-ups ($55), sweatshirts and sweatpants ($50), dresses and jumpsuits ($85), skirts and shorts ($45), blazers ($95), and outerwear ($95). All children's clothing is $25. The men's pricing is similar, but button-ups and shirts are $65.

Third-party labels, meanwhile, are all priced individually at 75% off the price on their hanging tag. To see what caught our eye, click through the gallery above.

Accessories and shoes are on the lower level. There, we found Steven Alan underwear ($10), jewelry ($45), belts and gloves ($25), hats and beanies ($25), scarves ($55), bags ($60), and shoes ($75). Like the clothing upstairs, all other brands are a flat 75% off, including Anne Thomas flats ($61), Acne Studios oxfords ($105), and Jil Sander platforms ($68). Oh, and there are lots of Clare Vivier bags for just $35.

Expect the third-party labels to go first; by the time additional discounts roll around later in the week, we're betting that the selection will be heavy on Steven Alan. Refer to the Dealfeed below for more of the sale's details.
