Meet Prada Olfactories, Now Available at Saks Fifth Avenue

Prada's newest fragrance collection aims to delve into the surreal and the subconscious. Miuccia Prada debuted Prada Olfactories at her fall 2016 runway show in Milan, and now the scents are sold exclusively in Saks Fifth Avenue's beauty department — the first part of the iconic store's extensive refresh.

The ten unisex fragrances, priced at $300 each, are packaged in glass bottles with midnight blue caps and sky-blue plaques with the cross-hatched texture of Saffiano leather that gives off the appearance of a diagonal pattern. Each bottle comes with a silk pouch with the appliquéd Prada logo. Scents are named after the cinematic works that they inspired, like Purple Rain, Day for Night, Un Chant D'Amour, and Tainted Love, the latter of which smells something like lipstick wax.

And as for the juice? They "combine contradictory and counterintuitive elements to provoke fantastical thoughts," a press release announcing the scents reads. Your best bet, according to the sales associate we spoke with, is Cargo de Nuit. Billed as "the scent of a twilight passage on the high seas," it's savory but sweet and works for that day-to-night grind.

You can pop into the department store's beauty level to check out the display now, or you can hold off until next week, when Saks's windows will highlight each scent and its corresponding collage.
