New York City's Best Sample Sales This Weekend

If you've been checking in on the (constantly updated!) April sample sales calendar, then you're already aware of what's going on this weekend — but what's the best way to tackle them? Below, we've boiled it all down to the best of what's happening this weekend, where you should go for each, and where you can refuel should you work up a retail-induced appetite.

Saturday

Miista: The British brand kicked off its sample sale on the Lower East Side on Friday morning, and everything is priced between $30 and $120 — pretty good discounts, considering that their price point is typically $200 to $350. You'll find a lot of samples from the current and future season that never made it into production, as well as nearly-sold-out models between sizes 5.5 and 10, with styles ranging from chunky sandals to brogues to peep-toe heels.

We popped in before the doors opened this morning to chat with designers Laura Villasenin and Georgie Bee, and they picked out their favorite styles available here — that included a black version of the Adelaide brogue for $50, the Penelope sandal in navy for $80, and the sparkly Beau Chelsea boot for $100.

103 Allen St, Lower East Side. Sat—Sun 11am—8pm.

The Kooples: Even though this sale runs through Monday, play it safe and head to Soho on Saturday to grab what's left of the French brand's apparel and accessories for both men and women — just don't expect to find leather jackets. See what we found when we stopped by earlier this week.

150 Greene St, Soho. Sat—Sun 10am—8pm.

Refuel: Before heading to the N/R at Prince Street to take you to your last sale of the day, pop into Fanelli Café on the corner of Prince and Mercer streets for pub fare and a good neon sign Instagram.

Baublebar: It's the jewelry brand's final day of its sample sale on Saturday, which means that you can clean up with up to an additional 50% off sale prices on everything remaining — and with prices previously topping out at $30, you can go nuts here without doing damage to your bank account. Here's an idea of what you can expect to find.

260 Fifth Avenue, Midtown South. Saturday 10am—5pm.

Sunday

A.L.C.: This is the final day of the brand's first-ever New York City sample sale, which included a lot of luxe basics in black: jumpsuits ($279), jersey dresses ($119), and your basic shirt ($39) are all there. Spend some time in the sample section, too — we think it's some of the best stuff here, and prices top out at $69. Take a look at what we found on opening day.

75 Ninth Avenue, Chelsea. Sat 10:30am—€”€”7pm, Sun 10:30am—”€”5pm.

David Yurman: Jewelry sale options are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum this weekend: You could buy a lot of little options at BaubleBar on Saturday, or you can save your cash for Sunday to invest in one nice piece from David Yurman — we'd suggest a bracelet or a cocktail ring.

135 W 18th St, Chelsea. Sat 10am—€”7pm, Sun 11am—€”€”5pm.

Refuel: Before hopping on the F train at 14th Street, recharge your batteries at Think Coffee on the corner of West 16th Street.

Blk Dnm: Stop by the cool kid brand's flagship on Lafayette Street to pick up between-season pieces like leather jackets and denim that is resistant to trends.

237 Lafayette St, Soho. Sat 10am—8pm, Sun 11am—€”6pm.
