Brooklyn's Northside Festival is known for the hundreds of up-and-coming bands and established artists who flock to venues throughout Williamsburg each June for a six-day celebration of art and music. But this year, festival organizers stepped up their game with Northside Innovation, a conference on June 9th and 10th that features major fashion players discussing the future of retail and the consumer experience.

From wearable tech to the rapid pace of social media, fashion is working to stay one step ahead in this changing world. Rebecca Minkoff and her CEO brother Uri kick off the festival with this talk on how their global lifestyle brand is embracing innovative technologies like VR and drones to reinvent the retail customer experience. They'll be in conversation with Fortune editor Lauren Covello.

Hayley Barna was just 27 when she and Katia Beauchamp created the game-changing beauty subscription service Birchbox in 2010. And Zady, the e-commerce site whose sustainable ethos is summed up in their motto #knowyoursource, grew into a buzzed-about fashion darling with the help of co-founder Soraya Darabi.
