Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Perhaps nobody is happier about today's weather forecast than Vineyard Vines — after all, the start of spring means more pastels. So that's why if you walk by the brand's Upper East Side store through 4pm today, you'll see pink whales not unlike the one above dancing to a steel drum band and handing out promotional discount codes and ice cream (with proof of purchase). In this case, you can accept candy from strangers.

The preppy brand is also setting up a picnic in Sheep's Meadow with towels, games, and more coupon codes. In case you can't find the cacophony on your own, be on the lookout for this:

The brand's second store is expected to open at Grand Central Terminal in the coming months.

Update: The brand clarified to Racked that it would not be handing out discounts, as previously stated, but rather coupon codes.
