Sugaring, Airbrush Tanning Are 'Coming Soon' to Union Square

Union Square is about to be a bit more beautiful. Local blogger EV Grieve noted signage for the Southern California-based Sugared + Bronzed salon at 114 Fourth Avenue, formerly home to a nail salon. Unsurprisingly, its service menu includes sugaring and airbrush tanning, the latter of which makes our LA site's list of top tanning spots.

For the uninitiated, sugaring is a type of hair removal process that involves a water-soluble sugar paste with a little bit of lemon to extract unwanted hairs using a gentle tugging motion in the natural direction of the growth, according to the brand's website.

California prices at the cashless salon start at $39 for a bikini sugaring and $49 for a Brazilian, while a standard airbrush tan will cost you $39 and an express spray job is $49; at the moment, we're unsure of whether they'll be different here. There's also no word yet on an opening date — it's listed as "coming soon" on its locations page, a phrase we're more than familiar with — but hopefully it opens in time to capitalize on swimsuit season.
