The Just-Opened Met Breuer Has a Phaidon Books Pop-Up

While art is undoubtedly the main attraction at the Met Breuer, the contemporary and modern art branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that's opening to the public today in the old Whitney Museum on Madison Avenue, bibliophiles will be pleased to know that there's also a Phaidon pop-up bookstore to be discovered here.

Located on the building's fifth floor, the temporary set-up contains nearly 300 titles that are a mix of classic Phaidon works and Met-published books that span categories like art, architecture, design, photography, fashion, travel, and food, plus a selection of children's books.

Not pictured in the cute set-up above: the reading and browsing lounge that's filled with Herman Miller seating. Phaidon will be open here throughout the summer.

In other museum-related news, born-and-bred New York jeweler Jessica Biales has created pieces inspired by the structure Marcel Breuer designed back in the 60s. Made of sterling silver or 18k gold and accented with diamonds, they're currently available on the designer's website starting at $200.
