Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Smythson, the British stationery and accessory brand, will take up residence across the street from Barneys' Madison Avenue flagship. That's not too far from the very-much-still-under-scaffolding future home of Hanley, one of many "future homes" in the street's recent retail boom.

The Shophound noticed that its signage at 667 Madison Avenue (formerly home to a rather large Vince Camuto) says the store will debut in March. It's replacing the location at 4 West 57th Street — "trading across the street from Bergdorf's for across the street from Barneys" — and bringing along its selection of women's purses and men's leather accessories that complement its simple yet luxurious stationery options.

Let's add Smythson to the list of stores we're waiting to see in the near future, including Stella McCartneyThe RowIsabel Marant, and Aquazurra. We'll see if the store will open when it says it will — you know how Madison Avenue likes to do.
