New York’s Fashion Forecast for Friday, July 29th, 2016

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Good morning! Today is Friday (!!), July 29th, and it’s pretty wet out there. It started raining overnight and showers are expected to last through the morning, but they should clear up by lunchtime, according to weather.com. While the precipitation is driving humidity up to the max right now, at least it’s only in the low 70s in Midtown Manhattan right now, and it’s only getting up to the low 80s by mid afternoon (though it’ll feel like high 80s, because humidity).

What’s on deck for the weekend? Temperatures in the low 80s, but a chance of scattered thunderstorms throughout — cue up the Netflix.

So what should you wear today? Whatever it is, don’t let it drag in the sidewalk puddles. A romper like the one we spotted above during South by Southwest (it’s so Texas, right?) is perfect for a day like today, and it can be paired with sneakers — not white, though you can clean them — and a light jacket to ward off that rain.

Keep the accessories light (especially if it’s a printed romper like this), throw the hair in a topknot, and don’t forget to grab an umbrella before you make your way out of your walkup and you’ve Gone Too Far to return.

Happy Friday, and thanks for reading!
