Scoop Is Down to Its Last Two NYC Stores

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It’s final call for Scoop NYC at Brookfield Place this weekend. The doomed boutique has been alerting customers of increasing closing sale discounts via email for the past month and periodically including store closure notices, and yesterday’s email signaled that the Financial District store is the next one in the city to go. Its last day slated for Sunday, June 12th.

The Soho flagship of the once-popular chain was the first store to shutter here — it closed for good the same day the news broke — and now with Brookfield Place out of the picture, the Meatpacking District and Upper East Side locations are the only ones left in NYC. The New York Times previously reported that all stores will close by the second week in July, but it’s unclear exactly when these two will be done for good.

When Racked social media editor Callia Hargrove stopped by the Upper East Side store last weekend, she found a decent selection of summer merchandise (think jorts and beach coverups) along with shoes from labels like Rachel Comey, Aquazzura, and Stuart Weitzman — but in some cases, there was only one of each pair.

If you’re looking to scoop up (sorry) some last-minute deals, discounts now start at half off original prices.
