Warby Parker Is Coming to Grand Central Terminal

MIDTOWN—Warby Parker isn't satisfied with just adding a Brooklyn store to its New York City lineup. Crain's New York reports that the glasses e-tailer has just signed for a 1,357-square-foot store inside Grand Central Terminal; we reached out to the brand and they added that the store will be near the 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue entrances and that they're shooting for a late summer opening.

CENTRAL VALLEY—French retailers Sandro and Maje will each open their second outlet locations in North America at Woodbury Commons to sell previous women's collections, according to the brand's parent company.

EAST VILLAGE—Menswear boutique VK Nagrani is moving into 87 East Houston Street, formerly home to Bowery Coffee, EV Grieve is reporting. The space that's right next to Rag + Bone will be "more theatre than traditional retail," featuring men's custom clothing, organic grooming products, and...hangover recovery kits?

MIDTOWN—Aeropostale announced that it will close its flagship at 1515 Broadway in Times Square and its Brooklyn store on Fulton Street, according to Crain's New York. On Wednesday, the retailer filed for bankruptcy and will close a total of 113 locations across the country beginning May 7th.

NEW YORK CITY—The store vacancies along Madison Avenue between 56th to 89th streets continue to grow, The Real Deal noted. Similar to the situation in Soho, rising rents are pushing businesses out, and no one's coming in to take their place.
