MIDTOWN—Gold star for you if you've been holding for the final markdowns at the department stores' end-of-season sales. Madison Avenue Spy popped into Saks Fifth Avenue and found Manolo Blahnik pumps for $180 (originally $595) and Chanel platform heels for $290 (originally $950). Similarly on the clothing racks, deals on Alexander McQueen, Fendi, and Christopher Kane dresses. Basically, stop what you're doing and shop now.

NEW YORK CITY—Apple is being rewarded for a job well done with the New York Landmarks Conservancy's 2016 Chairman's Award. Its stores in Soho, Grand Central Terminal, the Meatpacking District and on the Upper East Side are each in historic buildings or neighborhoods and marry "modern technology with distinguished architecture" in an award-worthy way.

GREENWICH VILLAGE—It's been three years since the Barnes & Noble on Sixth Avenue closed because of a "huge rent hike," and the 10,000 square-foot space is still sitting vacant. For a while, it appeared that TD Bank would take over the space, but nothing ever materialized. Now a leasing sign is visible on the upper level, according to Washington Square Park blog.

SOHO—The future home of Dolce & Gabbana is about to change hands. The Real Deal reports that Thor Equities has put 155 Mercer Street on the market, the same address where the Italian luxury brand signed a lease about a year ago. It plans to occupy the entire building for which Thor paid $27.3 million just three years ago, and it's unclear whether the sale will affect its opening date.
